Saturday night all four Makeover families met at CommunityAmerica Ballpark for our group meeting and for a little fun afterwards of yummy food and a T-Bones game! It certainly was an eye opener for me when we played a test game comparing name brands to store brands. After comparing them without knowing which one was which, I voted that all the store brands tasted better than the brand names, except for the beverage.
 

This meeting really got me to thinking about what a perfect place it was to meet. There we were, all of the teams working together to win the grand prize after receiving help and tips from great coaches and advisors. They have taken on a lot working with us, pushing us in positive ways to get us financially fit and strong to go out there and play to win in the real game of life.
 

It was nice talking to the other families and hearing about all their challenges, knowing I was not alone and that we have curveballs being thrown at us. This week I do have a few bases to steal and curveballs to avoid.
 

School is approaching fast for Mary, and I am trying to plan ahead and buy a little here and there so the purchasing pains don't hit me all at once. I am also going to separate groceries from miscellaneous items, like shampoos and other personals, to see how much I actually spend weekly on food. I buy these items all at the same place at the same time, so this should be interesting.
 

Mary is back from Springfield and babysat last night, so she was not able to go with me to the meeting at the ballpark. She continues to save her pennies and helps out so much by asking for so little from me throughout this contest. That alone is a great help.
